Building

Building

This is the third phase of our Construction process. Interestingly, in a house the foundation gets covered up and the building is what you see—in a church it is the ministry or the serving that you see; that’s the part that brings results so often we tend to overload people with serving when they do not have the proper depth of a foundation to support it. At The Connection, we only want people to be serving at the level of their foundational health and depth to support it; otherwise we know lives crack and crumble.

Building by Serving is an all-day seminar that helps people understand how God has designed them. When you are building a house, it requires all kinds of crews doing different things; electrical, carpeting, siding, landscaping, etc. It’s important to have the right people doing the right things. You may not want the carpeting guy doing your electrical work or the whole house might go up in smoke. In the church it’s similar; God has designed each person with special gifts and talents that when identified and developed, accomplish amazing things. It’s our desire to find out the area God has created you to serve in and empower you to do it—BUT, only when your depth is there to support it. We have found that if you break down in any of the four foundational walls, spiritually, relationally, mentally, or physically, everything else can crack or crash.

We are partnered with the Osceola Counsel on Aging that serves thousands of the poorest and weakest in our county and we want to serve with them. The way ministry is accomplished at The Connection is through Building Crews—you guessed it, these are crews of people working together to serve Christ in the church and in the community. When people are constantly involved in a Foundation Crew going deeper, and a Building Crew going up, then we believe unimaginable things will happen. This may not be the fasted approach, but we believe it is a solid and lasting one. The bottom line is that we want to support and ensure healthy Christians, not just busy ones, then God receives the greatest honor and the most ministry will happen in the healthiest way. Once the house is built, you are ready for Open House!
